HIPCO was started in the early 1990s as Hayford Information Processing Company by MLM data processing and start-up specialist Jack Hayford. Information regarding his services is now available at Hayford Consulting.

In 1996, Jack Hayford attended Jim Attebery's first Durango Songwriter's EXPO in Durango, CO. Jim and Jack became fast friends and teamed up to create an online home for what many industry insiders call "the premier songwriting event in America."
